Clarita's House Outreach Ministry, Inc. (CHOM) was established to assist homeless and needy families. It was named Clarita's House because our initial ministry was a transition home for homeless. After three years our home in Pine Hill was close in hopes on one day acquiring another property to house the homeless. In the meantime we provide meals to the homeless on the streets, dinner to the women and children at a homeless shelter in Orlando. For the past 5 years we provide a thanksgiving dinner for hotel families and homeless on highway 192 in Kissimmee. We provide back to school supplies to these hotel children. We distribute toys to these hotel children at Christmas time. We distribute gently used clothing, shoes, blankets and personal hygiene items for men and women. We assist these families with furniture and other household items when they're moving out of the hotels and into more permanent housing. We provide emergency gas cards and bus passes to those who are looking for work. These are just a few of the services we provide at CHOM.
With your help we can continue to provide these services and more. Your donation of $175.00 can provide dinner for 60 women and children at the homeless shelter we serve once per month in Orlando. Your donation of $75.00 can provide dinners for between 25-30 homeless on the streets that we serve twice per month. Your donation of $25.00 can provide emergency groceries for a family of 4 for at least 3 days. Your donation of $20.00 can provide a gas card for a mother or father living in the hotels and looking for work to support their family. Your donation of $16.00 can provide one week public transportation pass ride.
Your Giving Tuesday #givingtuesday donations are tax deductible and a good way to end the year. Your donations will assist hundreds of children and families living in low budgeted hotels on highway 192 and will also help hundreds of homeless living on the streets, in the woods and in their cars.
FOR DROP OFF INFORMATION
Clarita's House Outreach Ministry is a non-profit program for the homeless and disadvantaged. We are a Christ centered program based on biblical principles.
Our outreach team serve the homeless on the streets, in shelters, in the woods and in motels in Orange and Osceola counties.
In Osceola County, we are putting most of our emphasis on the children living in hotels, on the streets and in the woods. We provide groceries, clothing, personal care items, ACCESS, spiritual support, mentoring and other resources to these families with children.
There are over 3,000 registered homeless children just in Osceola county alone. Most of these children live in aged unkept rent-by-the-week motel complex along U.S. Highway 192 minutes away from Disney World. Most are doubled up with friends and relatives and some are living in cars and travel trailers.
Our goal is to have housing accommodation and resources for men, women, and women with small children.
We depend solely on assistance from individuals, churches, businesses and foundations to operate our programs.
Jesus said..... "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matt: 5:35, 40
Our Mission is to help the homeless and disadvantaged achieve self-sufficiency and inspire them to reconnect with society in a productive way.
Our Vision is to provide food, clothing and other resources needed to become independent and productive members of our community. Our vision is to serve Osceola and Orange counties of Central Florida. Our long term goal is a short-term residential program for the homeless and those in transition
We are committed to serving God and the needs of the homeless and disadvantaged. Every year over 3 million people experience homelessness, including 1.3 million children. The face of homelessness is diverse. It includes mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, and racial and ethnic minorities. One third of the homeless population is made up of families, 25-40% work, 37% are families with children, 25% are children, 25-30% are mentally disable, 39% are veterans, 40% are drug or alcohol dependent.
"I am my brother's keeper"
We invite you to become a supporter of our program and allow God to use you for the building of his kingdom.
Your generous donations will ensure that the needs of our most vulnerable citizens are met.
